If the last name Alston doesn’t sound familiar to you, get used to hearing it because the son of former NBA point guard and AND1 Streetball legend Rafer “Skip to My Lou” Alston, Reese Alston, just committed to Coach Will Wade and the Tigers.
Alston is the No. 1 player in the state of Texas and the No. 4 point guard in his class. He will be joining King Gibson in the backcourt, giving LSU arguably
the best incoming backcourt in the nation. Pairing those two with Ahmad Hudson in the frontcourt is making this one of the best recruiting classes in the country.
Alston is a 6’2″, 175-pound point guard who can handle the ball, create opportunities for himself and his teammates, and finish at the rim, even through contact. He utilizes ball screens effectively and makes quick, decisive passes off the dribble.
The days of LSU not competing in basketball are over.
Will Wade is resetting the standard for the men’s basketball program, and the nation will take notice when the results start showing up on the court.
How do you feel about Alston committing to the Tigers, and do you think Will Wade will be able to add even more talent to this incoming freshman class?
