Just five days remain until the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots face off in Super Bowl LX.
Statistically, the two teams come in very even on both sides of the ball, with the Seahawks ranked third in the NFL in points per game scored and first in the league by fewest points allowed per game, while the Patriots finished the regular season second and fourth, respectively, in those categories.
That could mean the outcome of the game might turn on special teams, and on Tuesday Seattle announced
that it had activated a core member of the special teams units from injured reserve.
A third round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, Chazz Surratt was released by the Vikings at the end of training camp in his second season in the league, after which he signed to the practice squad of the New York Jets. After three seasons in New York, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers ahead of the 2025 season, but was waived at the end of training camp and subsequently signed by the Seahawks.
Surratt finished the 2025 season fifth on the team in non-specialist special teams snaps in spite of only appearing in eleven games before a Week 12 ankle injury landed him on injured reserve for the remainder of the regular season.
To make room on the roster for Surratt, the Seahawks placed rookie Amari Kight on injured reserve.
