The Tennessee Titans have been playing without Jeffery Simmons, Calvin Ridley, and Arden Key for the last few weeks. All three were listed as questionable on Friday. The Titans didn’t elevate anyone from the practice squad on Saturday, so it seems like all three guys should be good to go today against the Houston Texans. That will be a huge boost for this team.
The Titans currently hold the number one overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Getting that pick would be a huge help to Mike Borgonzi as he tried
to build this roster. There is no doubt about that. With that being said, it might be more important for Cam Ward to get a few wins under his belt in his rookie season. Can they get a win today against the Davis Mills-led Texans?
If they are going to do that, it starts with protecting Ward. Houston has two of the best pass rushers up front in Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson. When these two teams met in September, Hunter had two sacks, but that was without JC Latham, who was out with a hip injury. How much of a difference will he make in this game?
On defense, the Titans will need to find a way to pressure Mills because they are extremely thin at corner. If Mills has time, Nico Collins could have a massive day in this one. Collins had four catches for 79 yards in the first match-up. That was the week that L’Jarius Sneed answered “Who?” when asked about Collins. Sneed is on IR now and has probably played his last snap for the Titans.
It’s always fun to beat the Texans. While a win here would hurt the draft pick, it would be pretty massive for Ward to get his first win against an AFC South opponent.
