Tom Bischof has a remarkable mindset at such a young age: he played less than he would’ve liked for Bayern Munich last season and was unceremoniously left out of Germany’s squad for the World Cup. For the new season, he has locked in completely but allowed some time for himself.
“Now and then I like to not watch any football, but obviously you can’t go completely without TV – I did watch a few World Cup matches,” Bischof said in an interview with Säbener 51 (as captured by X account @iMiaSanMia).
“Still, I was able to switch off. First I went away with friends, then I spent a lot of time with my family and my girlfriend. For the last two or three weeks, I’ve been training very intensively.”
Bischof is surely going to take on an increased role in Vincent Kompany’s team and is likely to be in consideration for Jürgen Klopp’s Germany. Things can only go up from here for the 21-year-old.
