Brock Lesnar may have crapped out before he even sets foot in Las Vegas for WrestleMania.
Lesnar returned to Raw last week seeking revenge against Seth Rollins over his assault on Paul Heyman, Lesnar’s advocate. Instead, “The Beast” ran into Oba Femi, who dropped him with a devastating Fall From Grace powerbomb.
Femi then pointed to the WrestleMania 42 sign, signaling he was answering Heyman’s open challenge issued at the end of February. As the cameras rolled, he shouted at Lesnar, “There can only
be one — me!”
Less than three months into his main roster run, the former NXT Champion is suddenly in a main-event level spot amid rumors that Lesnar doesn’t plan to lose until he’s ready to retire.
That raises the stakes for Femi. A loss could stall his early momentum. A win, especially a dominant one against the former WWE and UFC Champion, could be “The Ruler’s” first step toward headlining Mania in 2027.
The Card
- World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs. Roman Reigns
- Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Randy Orton
- Women’s World Championship: Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. Liv Morgan
- WWE Women’s Championship: Jade Cargill (c) vs. Rhea Ripley
- Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
WWE’s evolving match graphics have hinted at which matches will land on WrestleMania Saturday and Sunday. Officially, Rhodes vs. Orton is set to headline Night One, while Punk vs. Reigns closes the weekend on Night Two.
Latest Developments
WWE made no new matches official beyond Femi vs. Lesnar, but advanced stories in its existing lineup.
On Raw, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk punched Roman Reigns after being called old. Fans online pushed back, noting Punk is only seven years older than Reigns. To make sure Reigns’ jab resonates, WWE needs to clarify the 47-year-old’s motivation when the two likely meet again on Monday.
Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated Liv Morgan’s Judgement Day BFF Raquel Rodriguez after Iyo Sky came to even the odds. During the match, Morgan needled Vaquer, calling her “a loser” and “basura (trash).”
On SmackDown, Randy Orton explained his turn on friend and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. “The Viper” wants his legacy defined by titles, not children’s smiles. He added he still loves Rhodes but will do whatever it takes to become a 15-time world champion, punctuating his point by breaking Matt Cardona’s arm.
WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill now has backup in the form of B-Fab and Michin, as the trio ganged up on 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber winner Rhea Ripley. “Mami” now faces steeper odds in Sin City.
Keep An Eye On
WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta retained his title against Dragon Lee last Monday. Hot on Penta’s trail is former champion Dominik Mysterio, but Finn Bálor could stand in Dom’s way. In a surprising development, a new horse looks to enter the I.C. title race as El Hijo del Vikingo confronts Penta this Saturday on Lucha Libre AAA.
Seth Rollins has promised to destroy The Vision, though a Mania program has yet to come into focus.
Grammy-winning artist Jelly Roll edged closer to a WrestleMania match after Kit Wilson attacked him following a slam poetry battle.
In a stunning turn, Gunther, who made John Cena tap out in his final match, remains idle on the road to WrestleMania. Rumors had him facing Rey Mysterio, but an injury to Mysterio may have scrapped those plans, putting “The Ring General’s” Mania appearance in doubt.
When and Where to Watch
WrestleMania 42 comes to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on April 18–19. The first hour of Saturday’s show airs on ESPN2 and Sunday’s on ESPN, with full streaming on ESPN Unlimited, and internationally on Netflix.
