Harry Maguire
Harry Maguire will return to the XI after serving his ban. He should start the game alongside Ayden Heaven, who was impressive against Chelsea. The two, as things stand, are the most physically imposing pair in the side and will be up against one of the best sides on set-pieces in the league. If they come out of this game with a clean sheet, it’ll be interesting to see what Michael Carrick does once Lisandro Martinez is back.
Igor Thiago
The Brazilian has been one of the stories of the season,
and caused United a lot of problems in the reverse fixture. He’s scored 21 goals this season and is fighting Erling Haaland for the Golden Boot. He’ll certainly not lack much motivation going into this game. If United keep him quiet, half the battle will be won.
Approach
United haven’t qualified for the Champions League yet, but they can breathe easy going into this game. Besides the home game against Villa, the performances haven’t been satisfactory, and Michael Carrick is still trying to make a case for the permanent job, so it’s important for his own sake and United’s that there are positive developments before a crucial summer transfer window. A strong start at home will go a long way to achieving that after a disappointing home performance and result against Leeds.
