Is it actually happening?
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev makes his Real American Freestyle (RAF) debut against troublemaker and Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Dillon Danis in the main event of RAF 10 this weekend (Sat., June 13, 2026) inside Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.
As soon as this match was booked, everyone — including myself — basically came to the conclusion that there was no way in the world Danis would actually show up to wrestle Chimaev.
Well, so far, so good.
The former Bellator bad boy is in St. Louis and has already run into “Borz.”
Indeed, RAF released a video of the two headliners crossing paths, and things got tense pretty quickly.
Danis walked up to Chimaev with a security guard between them and asked, “How are you doing, brother, you good?” He then added, “I thought you would be bigger,” before suggesting they do jiu-jitsu or MMA instead.
Chimaev had no problem with that idea.
“Let’s do anything,” Chimaev responded.
But then “Borz” got right to the point, telling Danis, “You’ve been joking a lot,” which was clearly a reference to Danis talking trash on social media for several years (like this).
Danis fired back by saying, “I say it in person, don’t I?” before adding, “Nothing is personal, it’s just business.”
That is when Chimaev challenged Danis to a fight right then and there.
“Let’s do a street fight,” Chimaev said. “You won’t do that. You say you do everything. A couple of minutes, street fight.”
Danis accepted, but then asked why Chimaev and his people were following him.
“We can do it, but why don’t you want to do it one-on-one?” Danis said.
From there, the conversation turned into an argument about Americans, Chechens and Dagestanis jumping people.
“In America, people jump on one person,” Chimaev said.
“You’re the president of Dagestanis,” Danis replied. “You guys always jump people in a group.”
Chimaev then corrected him.
“I’m Chechen,” Chimaev said. “We only need a couple of minutes.”
So yeah, things got tense quickly.
Thankfully, there wasn’t a brawl, but that could all change tomorrow during the official RAF 10 press conference, where mean things will probably be said.
But hey, as of now, Danis is still scheduled to wrestle Chimaev on Saturday.
And honestly, that is the main thing.
