The Green Bay Packers worked out five linebackers on Wednesday, after working out two on Tuesday who were not signed by the team. This time around, the batch produced a signing: former Cincinnati linebacker Jack Dingle has joined the Packers’ practice squad.
Green Bay no longer had an off-ball linebacker on their practice squad, as they brought up special teams contributor Kristian Welch to the 53-man roster when the team moved Edgerrin Cooper, who tore his Achilles tendon, to the injured reserve
for the remainder of the season. As of now, there is no word on which practice squad player has been released to make room for the signing of Dingle. Previously, the Packers’ 17-man practice squad was full, following the re-signing of running back Damon Bankston on Tuesday.
Here’s a current count of Green Bay’s practice squad, which will need to be cut down by one player by tomorrow:
- QB: Kedon Slovis
- RB: Pierre Strong Jr. and Damon Bankston
- WR: Isaiah Neyor, Quincy Skinner Jr and Coleman Owen
- TE: Drake Dabney
- OL: Mekhi Becton Sr., Dalton Cooper, Josh Gesky and Dillon Wade
- DL: David Blay Jr.
- ED: Nyjalik Kelly and Arron Mosby
- LB: Jack Dingle
- CB: Domani Jackson
- S: Kahlef Hailassie
- K: Lenny Krieg (international exemption)
- P: None
- LS: None
Dingle was undrafted in the 2026 class and signed with the local Cincinnati Bengals as a UDFA. He was waived by the Bengals at the cutdown deadline and did not sign to their practice squad afterwards. According to documentation I have access to, Dingle signed with Cincinnati for $15,000 guaranteed post-draft, tying him for the 249th (to 272nd) most guarantees for a UDFA in the 2026 class.
For perspective, here’s what the Packers’ UDFAs were guaranteed post-draft:
- ED Nyjalik Kelly: $262,500 (practice squad)
- WR J. Michael Sturdivant: $215,000 (active roster)
- OL Josh Gesky: $215,000 (practice squad)
- OL Dillon Wade: $215,000 (practice squad)
- LB T.J. Quinn: $165,000 (cut)
- RB Jaden Nixon: $15,000 (cut)
- TE R.J. Maryland: $15,000 (cut)
- OL Dylan Barrett: $15,000 (cut)
- S Murvin Kenion II: $10,000 (cut)
- QB: Kyron Drones: $5,000 (cut)
