Former Blue Devil Kon Knueppel continues to dazzle in his rookie NBA season. His most recent accomplishment is gettin to 100 threes faster than any other rookie. When you realize that that takes in guys
like Reggie Miller, Steph Curry, Damian Lillard and the rest, it’s hugely impressive.
Knueppel and his old Duke roomie, Cooper Flagg, are in one of the most intriguing Rookie of the Year races in recent memory.
Just as an aside, we’ve commented on how so many Blue Devils were sold on Duke by guys who played there before them. JJ Redick saw the Laettner shot against Kentucky in 1992 and told his dad, “I’m going to Duke.” There are a lot more examples of this. We wonder who down the road will say that either Knueppel or Flagg inspired them to choose Duke.
