John Harbaugh keeps Giants believing in team meeting | New York Daily News
Safety Jevon Holland said the meeting “was great” from the players’ perspective and that Harbaugh had set the tone before the season by putting the message “win and learn” on a whiteboard before their first game of the season against the Dallas Cowboys..
“He does a great job of extracting a lesson out of whatever the situation is,” Holland said at his locker.
“Whether it’s a win, a loss. There’s a reason why he’s Coach John Harbaugh, why he has the pedigree that he does. Because he’s a fu—ng great coach, to be honest. I think where he’s best at is in these situations, getting the team to see the lesson in the loss and capitalize on that into Week 3. Instead of a win or a loss, it’s you’re either winning or you’re learning. And you’re learning how to continue to be better and to grow.”

Matt Nagy on adjustments needed
Matt Nagy: Odell Beckham is not just a backup, we want to get him involved | Pro Football Talk
Through two games this season, Beckham has played 14 snaps and has yet to have a pass thrown to him. But when Nagy was asked about Beckham today, he insisted that there’s a role for him.
“Odell is — he does a lot of good things well,” Nagy said. “We’re trying to slowly package him into some things offensively. It’s not that he’s just a backup. There’s times when, whatever it is personnel wise, we have it in the game plan and we just didn’t get to it. You’ve got to be ready, one injury away from being in all the time. He knows that, he understands that.”

Fowler: The Giants entered Monday’s game with a plan tailored around Dart’s skill set. But now the Giants’ offense is in the hands of Winston, who signed a two-year, $13 million extension on Sept. 6. Winston is comfortable operating out of the shotgun, which offensive coordinator Matt Nagy — with his ties to Kansas City and Andy Reid — can accommodate.
This is where Nabers enters the fray. He has been slow to launch through two games, which is understandable given his recovery from a torn ACL. But elite receivers can make backup QBs look like starters. The Giants will need Nabers to have that effect. And Winston did provide a spark last season, so perhaps he finds that groove again.

The dream of being one of the best in the NFL and one day winning a Super Bowl has been deferred for a while now, and Winston accepted his role with the New York Giants for what it was.

Draft picks are a precious commodity, especially for a Giants team that is still building. They’re already without their fourth- and seventh-round picks in next year’s draft as a result of previous trades, although they have an additional sixth-rounder from the Daniel Faalele trade with the Jaguars in August.
None of those options should excite fans. And that’s why losing a starting quarterback is such a devastating blow. There isn’t a surplus of quality quarterbacks available, especially during the season. The time to fortify the roster is during the offseason. The Giants did that by showing their belief in Winston with the extension. Now is the time to see it through, not get desperate and burn a valuable draft pick.

“I’ve seen a few people come back around four months, so it’s possible but unlikely,” Dr. Clint Soppe, an orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Los Angeles, regarding Dart playing in the postseason. “It depends on the type of tear and exactly what’s going on…Most MCL tears, if they’re just isolated tears, those can be treated without surgery, and they heal on their own. But then I think when they got the MRI and found out there’s a more significant meniscus tear, that’s when everything changed.”

“I mean kind of just based on the way camp was going and kind of the situation that they had over there it wasn’t really that much of a surprise to me but you know ultimately it is what it is that led to me being here today and I’m happy about it,” said Slayton. “I definitely feel healthy and I feel like you know I’m kind of back.”
