The official last day of Summer is, according to the calendar, September 22nd. For school-age kids, summer ended when they headed back to school a couple of weeks ago. Scientists and astronomers use September 1st for statistical reasons. For others, the end of Summer is the three-day Labor Day Weekend, meaning that for some, this weekend is a big deal or at least a reason to really let loose or take one last mini vacation before heading back to the real world. Another sign that Summer is over for many
of us is the start of football. College football kicked off last weekend in what is known as Week 0, as this coming week/weekend is the official Week 1 of college football, with most teams playing late this week or over the long weekend. That is, of course, followed by the NFL kicking off in a little over a week with a Thursday evening showdown between the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and their divisional rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.
So this evening, Phinsider Question Of The Day is:
Do you and your family/friends see this weekend as the end of Summer or an excuse for you and yours to celebrate the end of Summer? What are your plans for the holiday weekend? Will you be attending a college football game this weekend, taking a trip, having a BBQ, or hosting another gathering?
