The Buffalo Bills held their first full practice of Week 6 on Thursday, it was mostly business-as-usual on the injury front for the AFC East division leaders.
After a walk-through practice on Wednesday, the Bills posted a very lengthy injury report. The problem with reports coming off walk-throughs is that everything is just an estimate: this is what we think they would have been able to do if we had gone full force.
Unfortunately, a lot of times that means some surprises on the next day’s reports
— and when it comes to injuries, surprises aren’t usually a good thing. Not so on Thursday.
The only change from Wednesday’s “pretend” practice report to Thursday’s “let’s put on the pads” practice report was Spencer Brown. The Bills’ starting right tackle had a full day of practice, but then, he told us he would. Brown said it was more of a spasm/tightness issue that forced him from Monday night’s game and he would be fine. He was right.
The only true questions surround cornerback Dee Alford, who was limited, and wide receiver DJ Moore, who didn’t practice. I would expect Alford to play Sunday. Moore will want to play, and his lack of practice isn’t an indicator of what he’ll be wearing on Sunday. If he gets any work in at all tomorrow, look for him to play.
We’ll get game day designations on Friday, but I look for both Alford and Moore, along with wide receiver Joshua Palmer, to be listed as questionable once again, while defensive tackle Ed Oliver is likely to be ruled out for a second straight week.
As for the Raiders, they also have a lengthy injury report.
