On Friday, the Carolina Panthers announced that they have re-signed do-everything offensive lineman Brady Christensen
.The Panthers selected Christensen in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He played tackle in college but has played at all five positions across the offensive line in the NFL. He’s battled roster changes and injuries, so he’s never been in one place for long, but he’s always played to at least a passable level at every spot.
Christensen
missed the second half of last season after tearing his achilles. General manager Dan Morgan had mentioned in past press conferences that the team had been in contact with Christensen, but they were presumably waiting on a clearer picture of his health before offering him a contract. Given that the team is bringing him onboard now, they must feel pretty good about the direction he’s trending.
Assuming Christensen gets back to full health, he becomes a tremendous skeleton key in the offensive line rotation. On paper, the Panthers look to have a good starting five up front, but Christensen can slide in anywhere if and when injuries pop up or if players underperform.
