Conor McGregor is back, but the oddsmakers don’t like his chances.
On Saturday, the UFC announced that the former two-division champion finally makes his return to the octagon after a five-year absence, taking on Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 329 on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The bout headlines International Fight Week and is a rematch of their 2013 fight that McGregor won via unanimous decision. But even though McGregor won their first encounter, oddsmakers think it’s unlikely
“Notorious” will repeat.
Per BetOnline.Ag, McGregor is currently a +475 underdog to Holloway, with “Blessed” coming in as a -450 betting favorite. For context, that equates to just a 17.4 percent chance for McGregor to win.
It’s not surprising that Holloway is a favorite; McGregor is almost 38 years old and has not competed since shattering his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021. Holloway, meanwhile, is coming off losing his “BMF” title to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in March.
The UFC also announced several other fights for UFC 329 on Saturday, including a co-main event between Benoit Saint Denis and Paddy Pimblett that had been rumored. BetOnline.Ag dropped lines for these new fights, which you can view below.
Conor McGregor (+475) vs. Max Holloway (-650)
Benoit Saint Denis (-170) vs. Paddy Pimblett (+145)
Cory Sandhagen (-150) vs. Mario Bautista (+130)
Brandon Royval (+145) vs. Lone’er Kavanagh (-170)
Gable Steveson (-1800) vs. Elisha Ellison (+900)
