The most coveted prep quarterback showcase in the country wrapped up Sunday with 2027 Michigan commit Kamden Lopati providing a taste of what he brings to the table at the next level.
From Los Angeles where the three-day 2026 Elite 11 Finals took place, Lopati participated alongside fellow four-star Power 4 bound signal callers. He was active on each day of the tournament and several clips on social media surfaced celebrating his skillset on the field.
The overall consensus was the competition didn’t
allow Lopati to really emphasis what he does best — creating when on the run as a pure dual-threat. Still, he finished No. 11 overall out of 20 throwers by Rivals. Other notable players who attended included MVP winner Trae Taylor, committed to Nebraska, and former Michigan pledge Peter Borque, now committed to Virginia Tech.
The first day saw Lopati and the group take part in a training session and went through various drills.
The second day was the Pro Day session, where Lopati followed a script that almost parallels what quarterbacks at the NFL Combine go through. He threw 20 passes Saturday.
The third day was Lopati under center for the 7v7 round. He went 15-of-21 for 206 yards and five touchdowns.
Lopati spoke with Rivals in Los Angeles about his decision to commit to Michigan in April after flipping from Illinois.
“I have so many great relationships with the entire Michigan staff and that was big for me,” Lopati said. “All of those coaches were recruiting me when they were at Utah and picked things right back up when they got to Michigan.
“It was a hard decision for sure but I feel great about it. Michigan is a great opportunity for me on so many levels so I’m still excited to be a Wolverine and can’t wait to get going.”
At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Lopati is listed as the No. 115 prospect and No. 10 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class, accoridng to Rivals. He’s also the No. 2 player in Utah.
