We don’t know what Fran Brown got for Christmas, but we do know the Syracuse Orange Head Coach will need to restock his roster in the transfer portal.
Three more Syracuse players announced their intention to transfer: linebacker James Heard and offensive linemen Carter Clark and Josh Miller bring the total to 2- players who have announced prior to January 2nd’s portal opening. Heard joined the Orange after a year at West Virginia. He appeared in 22 games and recorded 20 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception.
The Camden native will have two seasons of eligibility left.
Miller transferred from Georgia and appeared in 7 games over two seasons with Syracuse, making a start at center this year before injury. His departure along with the graduation of Austin Collins means the Orange will need to add a center this spring.
Clark joined Syracuse as a walk-on in 2022. The Hilton, NY native made his first career appearance in the season-finale against Boston College.
With another week before the transfer portal for football opens, we’ll have more about Syracuse’s needs heading into 2026.
