While the White Sox aren’t going anywhere soon, let’s take a moment to celebrate what happened this afternoon with the Double-A team. Congrats to the Birmingham Barons!
Now on to the finale in the Bronx, where the White Sox will try to avoid a sweep. Davis Martin (7-10) is on the mound despite some struggles late in the season (ERA back up past 4.00, at 4.03).
Just yesterday, the White Sox claimed Derek Hill from the Marlins after Mike Tauchman’s injury. Corey Julks is back on the roster and starting in left field. Yes, end of season White Sox are looking more and more like Cactus League White Sox every game!
Our old friend Carlos Rodón is on the mound tonight. Rodón (17-9) has been brilliant this season, with an ERA of 3.04 and 198 strikeouts. The lineup will be similar to what we’ve already seen in the series. Just one game back of the division lead, New York will look to attack early on.
First pitch is 6:05 p.m. CT. You can watch (if you dare) on CHSN or listen on ESPN Chicago 1000.
