Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles news and links …
Most underappreciated NFL players: Top candidate for each NFC team in 2026 season – NFL.com TANK BIGSBY: This is less about lauding an undervalued performance last season and more about providing a general reminder that Bigsby exists. You probably remember him being traded to Philly last September after being displaced in the running back pecking order by Jaguars rookie Bhayshul Tuten. And there’s a good chance you know he ripped off 104 yards
on nine carries for the Eagles in a Week 8 win over the Giants. But he otherwise didn’t really do much — with even that 100-yarder overshadowed by 174 scrimmage yards from Saquon Barkley. So maybe you missed some of the reasons to be encouraged about Bigsby, like his per-carry mark (5.9, almost 2 full yards better than Barkley’s 4.1), or the fact that NGS credited him with 13 explosive runs out of his 63 carries (with both Philly and Jacksonville), which worked out to the best explosive-carry rate (20.6%) of any NFL running back with 50-plus rush attempts in 2025. Barkley turned 29 in February and has logged 288 touches or more in each of the past four seasons. If new coordinator Sean Mannion is going to turn the Eagles’ offense around, Bigsby could be busy.
Josh Sweat trade rumors: Back to the Eagles? – BGN
One season after Josh Sweat left the Philadelphia Eagles to sign a four-year, $76.4 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals in free agency, there’s word that the edge defender is unhappy with his current situation. Sweat hasn’t reported to voluntary OTA practices and now reporting indicates that teams around the league are checking in on his availability. And so it’s time to ask the age old question: Should the Eagles trade for him?
Teams are checking in on Josh Sweat’s availability – Revenge Of The Birds
Here is the thing, trading Josh Sweat this offseason makes absolutely zero sense for the Arizona Cardinals. They did nothing, literally nothing, to upgrade the edge position, so trading away their only viable pass rusher would be something that doesn’t make sense. That doesn’t mean he won’t be someone they should look at moving if it makes sense during the season, as his value may increase for them in the trade market during the season if they are struggling as many expect, and Sweat will be 30 next year.
Safety IS NOT The Eagles’ Biggest Concern Entering 2026 – PHLY Eagles Podcast
Drew Mukuba might not yet know who will line up next to him in Week 1, but whether it’s Marcus Epps, Michael Carter, Brandon Johnson, Grant Delpit, Cole Wisniewski, Mr. Gush or someone else, Brandon Lee Gowton believes that’s not the most pressing depth chart concern entering the summer.
My favorite offseason move by every NFL team: Bengals swing big, Chiefs add juice – The Athletic
Philadelphia Eagles: Adding Jonathan Greenard to the pass-rush rotation. Critics of the Eagles point to the team’s untenable cap situation, so there was irony in the Eagles’ acquiring Greenard from the Vikings to help Minnesota navigate a difficult short-term cap situation. The bottom line is that Philly, a team that has contended for and won championships on the strength of its pass rush, added a proven rusher. Greenard, 29, had only three sacks last season after collecting at least 12 in each of the previous two, partly because of a shoulder injury that shortened his season and required surgery.
Fantasy football: Why the 2026 NFL schedule benefits the Lions and Eagles – ESPN
The Eagles are sitting pretty with the easiest projected schedule at three of the four key fantasy positions (QB, RB, WR, TE). This checks out with five games against the NFC East, as well as A-plus matchups with the Titans and Cardinals. The Eagles did have a light slate last season as well, but this helps the offense’s chances of a bounce-back season. That said, one major thing we need to pay attention to here is the order of games. The Eagles rival the Lions for the easiest fantasy schedule during the fantasy regular season, but the slate during the playoffs (Seahawks, Texans, at 49ers) is as tough as it gets. Keep this in mind when considering the likes of Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon and Dallas Goedert.
Philadelphia Eagles 2026 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet: Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith And More – Fantasy Life
Jalen Hurts’ main culprit for last season’s career-worst fantasy production was a five-year low in rushing touchdowns (8). However, the Eagles still used the tush push tactic on 89% of their trips to the 1-yard line; the difference was this sputtering offense had only 10 total plays from the doorstep. Reminder: Hurts is the QB2 in fantasy points per game since 2021.
In Part 2 of a Sean Mannion Q&A, who were his biggest influences as a coach – NBCSP
You’ve always been big on a quarterback’s footwork. Why is that so important? “I think the quarterback position, there’s so many things that go into it. I think everything has a predetermined timing and rhythm to the play. It’s really installing a scheme that has proper timing and proper rhythm in terms of how the different elements involved in the concept work with one another. So making sure that the timing of one route marries with the timing of another route. Then you train the quarterback to really understand that and listen to his feet. That’s something that we talk about. If your footwork is sound and your rhythm’s good, it’s just going to feel like the ball wants to come out. Then if it’s not, then you move on. Those are all the things that go into training quarterbacks. … How do we make sure that the timing of the play is sound? And then how do we train the quarterback to understand what that timing is and how to best operate within it?”
5 forgotten Eagles who have to prove themselves in OTAs – PennLive
OL Willie Lampkin: It’s rare for injured players to be claimed off waivers. But the Eagles did that last August, placing Lampkin on injured reserve shortly after to keep him in the building. Now, the former All-American at North Carolina and 2025 undrafted free agent will have a chance to secure a spot on the 53-man. Drew Kendall is the only reserve interior lineman with any experience. Don’t be surprised if the long game on Lampkin pays off for the Eagles.
HS FOOTBALL: Fangio honored as UNICO Man of the Year – Wilkes-Barre Citizens’ Voice
It’s hard for Vic Fangio to pass up an opportunity to return to his roots. While he was a little south of his native Dunmore on Tuesday night, Fangio was in town to help UNICO celebrate the 75th anniversary of its annual all-star game featuring the top senior players from the Wyoming Valley Conference. In 1976, Fangio was in the same shoes as the players in attendance at Mohegan Pennsylvania. Fangio played in Lackawanna County’s Dream Game where he forged lifelong friendships with not only his fellow Dunmore players but also those he competed against throughout his high school career. Fangio was the recipient of UNICO’s Man of the Year and was also the keynote speaker for the event. But just like when Fangio played in high school, football has a way of reuniting the past with the present.
Cowboys addressed their defensive issues, but solving them requires more – Blogging The Boys
The Cowboys’ offseason deserves credit. It was aggressive, targeted, and honest about the scale of last season’s failure. This was not a cosmetic makeover, it was a real overhaul. But whether they have done enough depends on how the question is framed. Have they addressed every level of the defense? Yes. Have they created a more talented, more flexible, and more sensible defensive structure? Yes. But have they fixed it? The best answer here is not yet. That answer will only come when Parker’s defense has to tackle Saquon Barkley, track Jayden Daniels, cover DeVonta Smith, survive injuries, adjust through the long middle of the season, and prove that all of these offseason changes can hold up when opponents start attacking the weak spots. For now, the Cowboys have gained credibility. They have not gained certainty.
Washington Commanders 2026 roster is light years better than 2024 team – Hogs Haven
QB: Jayden Daniels, Marcus Mariota. Jayden Daniels as a 3rd-year veteran > Jayden Daniels as a rookie. Conclusion: The room will remain the same with both Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota. The big difference is this will be year three for Jayden, and if he can stay healthy, the sky is the limit! [BLG Note: I think this assumption underrates just how good Daniels was as a rookie. He could never get back to those heights and yet still have a very good career.]
NY Giants work out veteran defensive tackle Eddie Goldman – Big Blue View
Veteran defensive tackle Eddie Goldman reportedly headlined a workout for the New York Giants on Tuesday, perhaps as a possible replacement for Roy Robertson-Harris, who will miss the season with a torn Achilles. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported Goldman’s workout. Art Stapleton reported that it was part of a larger workout. Goldman, 32, was a second-round pick by the Bears in 2015. He was with the Bears through the 2021 season, playing three years under current Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.
