It’s been a rough few months for Dragon Lee, who has eaten more pins than a corkboard, making this story from The Undertaker all the more interesting.
Earlier this year, after an episode of Raw, Lee took a picture of himself sitting on Taker’s motorcycle and posted it to social media. The caption read, “Thanks to uncle punk for this picture,” presumably referring to CM Punk.
Five months later, Taker didn’t appear to be over it when asked about it recently by media personality Chris Van Vliet.
“I’m like,
are you kidding me? Seriously, that would not have happened in the 2000s,” Taker said.
Getting on someone else’s motorcycle without permission is poor form. It’s especially bad when the owner is one of the higher-ups in your company. To make matters worse, as Taker revealed, it wasn’t even the “Deadman’s” bike.
The head of AAA’s creative said he’s since gotten over it. However, he couldn’t resist having some fun at Lee’s expense, telling Lee he’d scratched the motorcycle and would be getting the repair bill.
Buried?
The incident took place on February 23, the night Taker announced that AJ Styles was being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Before that night, Lee was 4-1 in televised matches in 2026, according to Cagematch. His only loss came in the Men’s Royal Rumble, where he was eliminated by Bronson Reed.
Since then, Lee has dropped 10 of his last 17 televised matches. He has seven wins during that stretch, but only four came in singles competition. His other three victories were tag matches, and in two of them, his partner scored the deciding fall.
For what it’s worth, in AAA, where Taker is head of creative, the often touted “future of lucha libre” is just 1-3 this year.
Is Lee getting punished or — GASP — buried? I wouldn’t go that far. However, it also wouldn’t surprise me if that lapse in judgment landed him in the doghouse.
Currently, the fire-less Dragon is sidelined with a thumb injury. Perhaps his fortunes will change when he returns.
