Last week the New York Jets hit rock bottom when they lost at home to a previously winless Miami Dolphins team. The Dolphins had never led at any point in any game this season prior to the Jets game last week. Against the Jets the Dolphins never trailed at any point in the game. It was an abysmal performance that all but sealed the Jets’ fate for the 2026 season. It looks very much like the Jets will miss the playoffs for the 16th consecutive season. Once again by the beginning of November the only
thing the Jets have to look forward to is next year’s draft. This is getting very old.
The loss to the Dolphins gave the Jets a 2-5 record on the season. Today the Jets are home at MetLife Stadium as they try to get back on the winning track against a Las Vegas Raiders team that has lost four straight games after starting the season 3-0. Kickoff is scheduled for shortly after 1 PM EDT.

If Aaron Glenn has any hope of keeping his job next season, these are the kinds of games he has to start winning. The Raiders have one of the worst defenses in the NFL. The Jets need to take advantage and run up the score. The Jets haven’t scored more than 25 points all season. With a healthy offensive line for the first time since game 3 and the best set of offensive weapons the Jets have had in more than 10 years, now is the time to change that.
The Raiders have gotten the best of the Jets recently, winning four of the last five games these teams have played. Can the Jets take care of business at home today and start turning their season around? We’ll find out soon enough.
It’s the Jets and the Raiders in game 8 of the 2026 season. Enjoy the game everyone.
