La Familia took it to JHX Sport (Kansas alumni) Wednesday night in front of a great HMC crowd. They were patiently waiting until tonight to see who stands in their way of a $2 million payday from the non-alumni bracket.

Davis Steel remained undefeated in TBT play, rolling to a 4th-straight win Thursday after beating The Mecca 71-69. The Mecca had some nice stats though; Casper Ware scored 20, and Brandon Moss had 17 off the bench. Former Fresno State big man Terrell Carter had 6 of the 11
blocked shots for TM, but it wasn’t enough.
Former Arizona standout Gabe York led the way for Davis Steel, pouring in 16 while Anthony Clemons and DJ Rodman (son of Dennis Rodman) both had 13.
La Familia vs. Davis Steel will tip off Sunday afternoon (1:00 p.m. ET | FOX) inside Memorial Coliseum. This will be the last game Willie Cauley-Stein plays in Lexington, at least professionally anyway. What better way to send him off than to win a huge payday?
It won’t be easy; Davis Steel is the 2nd-highest scoring team in TBT, hitting 79 points per game. They do it from distance, hitting at just over 43% from 3-point range. Maybe we can talk to the maintenance guys over at Rupp and have them tighten the rims over Memorial.
The only real statistical advantage for La Familia is in steals, swiping 5.4 to Davis Steel’s 4.8. Everything else favors Davis Steel.
You may not recognize the name because, after 12 years as Eberlein Drive, the Drive is partnering with Davis Sports Corp. to compete as Davis Steel this year. They have back-to-back final four appearances and were the runner-up last year.
Will Willie and the boys go out on a high note, or will Davis Steel come in and ruin the party?
Regardless of what happens, this has been a special run for La Familia and the BBN, one that we get to enjoy for one more game.
