Barcelona summer signing Gabriel Jesus has revealed that young midfielder Brian Farinas is the youngster who has most surprised him since signing for the club from Arsenal.
The Brazilian arrived at the end of the summer transfer window and has already made an instant impact, scoring on his first Champions League appearance for the club against Feyenoord.
Jesus has now been talking about how he’s been settling in and has been asked which player has surprised him most at Barcelona.
“The game didn’t surprise
me because it’s similar: the fast ball and all that. But I was surprised by Brian Fariñas. I hadn’t seen him much or knew him, but in training he caught my attention,” he told Diario Sport.
“So did Gavi. I already knew the others: Pedri, how he plays, Lamine… Of course, I knew them all; but I hadn’t seen Brian play that much.”
Farinas has been promoted to the first-team this season after impressing Hansi Flick in pre-season training but is still waiting to make his competitive debut for Barca.
