UFC Perth went down yesterday (Sat., May 2, 2026) inside RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, which saw Carlos Prates stop Jack Della Maddalena via technical knockout (TKO) in the third round (see it again here). In the co-main event of the evening, Quillan Salkilld defeated Beneil Dariush — also via TKO — in the very first round (see it again here).
Biggest Winner: Carlos Prates
Prates was already impressing the masses during his UFC tenure, but after what he did to Jack Della in the main event
of the evening the Brazilian bomber is ready to become a major star and title contender for the promotion. He systematically picked “JDM” apart for the first two rounds with his well-round striking attack before he ultimately put his foe away late in the third round. All of his seven UFC victories have come by way of knockout, but this was perhaps his best performance to date. And it’s one that should earn him the next title shot.
Runner Up: Quillan Salkilld
Under the radar no more. Salkilld secured yet another victory inside the Octagon, and his knockout win over Dariush might be his best, and the one that gets him to a Top 15 ranking. Salkilld wasted no time in getting after the longtime veteran before securing the finish a few minutes into the opening round. He is now 5-0 inside the Octagon with four finishes, improving his overall record to an impressive 14-1. The 26 year-old Aussie is on his way up and has no plans in slowing down.
Biggest Loser (s): Tai Tuivasa, Beneil Dariush
Tuivasa and Dariush will share this spot because both men seem to be on their way out of the promotion following their latest defeats. Tuivasa suffered his seventh straight loss after he was handled by Louie Sutherland over the course of three rounds. “Bam Bam” has not had his hand raised in victory in over three years, and while he vows to not quit anytime soon the promotion may very well part ways with him following his horrid streak. As for Dariush, he suffered his second straight knockout loss after he was stopped by Quillan Salkilld via strikes in the very first round (highlights). He is now 1-4 in his last five fights with all of his losses coming via KO/TKO. He postponed his retirement, but this defeat may expedite it.
