Lamine Yamal says Barcelona’s new signings have all settled in well at the club and have struck up a great relationship with their new team-mates already.
Barcelona dipped into the transfer market in the summer and signed Rodri, Gabriel Jesus, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi as well as landing Joao Cancelo on a permanent transfer.
Yamal says the squad have been quick to bond and now feel as if they’ve “been together for four years.”
“They’re at the same level and, above all, they’ve adapted very well.
We get along as if we’ve all been together for four years. With Cancelo, Gabriel, Adeyemi, Gordon, Rodri, everyone. We get along very well and there’s a great understanding,” he told France Football.
Flick’s side have certainly started the season well, winning all their matches so far and banging in the goals along the way. Yamal knows that the Catalans are a good watch when they take to the pitch.
“I get the impression that we’re a very enjoyable team to watch. We play to attack, to have possession, and to score goals. You can tell we enjoy ourselves, that we’re a great family, that every time we’re on the pitch we have a good time,” he added.
“We don’t think, ‘Today I’m going to train,’ but rather, ‘I’m going to see my friends, we’re going to have fun, we’re going to train.’ And then match day arrives and everyone enjoys it: the full-back, the goalkeeper, the striker, everyone.”
The international break means that Barca’s players are now spread across the globe and are not due back in action until October.
However, there are plenty of exciting fixtures to look forward to, with Barca set to face PSG and Real Madrid next month.
