For the third consecutive week, the Knights went 3-3, so they remain one game under .500. This time, the series split came at home against Norfolk (18-27).
Infielder Jacob Gonzalez, 23, looks ready for the majors. The former first-rounder went 10-for-21 with four homers, two doubles, three walks, and 12 RBIs. Gonzalez also swiped a base in his only attempt. This season, Gonzalez is slashing .306/.423/.638 overall while providing solid defense at shortstop. Once again, the Knights offense was impressive overall, as Charlotte put 47 runs on the board (7.83 runs per game) against Norfolk. However, even within those fantastic surroundings, Gonzalez stood out.

On Sunday, Veras went 2-for-3 with a walk to guide the Barons to a 6-5 victory and end the series on a high note. After a couple of disappointing weeks, the Dash got back on track with a 5-1 week against the Blue Rocks (19-19).
Boston Smith, 23, became the first player besides Caleb Bonemer and Colby Shelton to win a Dash Player of the Week award. With Shelton now in Birmingham and Bonemer cooling off a bit, Smith came through in a big way for Winston-Salem. The catcher went 6-for-15 with a homer, a triple, a double, six walks and four stolen bases. Smith reached base safely more often than not, and he finished with a 1.322 OPS for the week. Smith opened the season with Kannapolis, where he slashed .267/.353/.367 in eight games before being promoted, and in 23 games with the Dash, he has been unstoppable (.325/.440/.650).

The Cannon Ballers got off to a slow start in April, but they have been trending toward .500 in May. Kannapolis went 8-16 in the first month of the season, but they are back within three games of .500 due to a 10-5 May record.
Right-handed starter Max Banks, 23, was the Cannon Baller of the Month in April, and he has not slowed down. Banks pitched six innings on Thursday, and he allowed zero earned runs (one unearned run) on four hits. Banks’ 2.25 ERA in April was excellent, but he is rolling with a 0.50 May ERA after three quality starts. Banks, who the White Sox drafted in the 14th round in 2025, is likely due for a promotion in the near future.

The Complex Sox slipped a bit this week, going 2-3 to remain at a .400 winning percentage in the early going.
Catcher and infielder Eduardo Herrera, 19, did not get much playing time, but he sure made his time on the field count. Herrera went 5-for-6 with three doubles and three RBIs. Prior to this season, Herrera played first base and third base, but he has primarily played catcher in 2026. Herrera’s sample size is still quite small in 2026, but he is off to a fantastic start.
