The Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots have released their respective inactive players lists for their Week 2 AFC East duel. Kickoff is just under 90 minutes away, with NFL rules requiring teams to reduce their 53-man roster (plus two practice squad elevations) to the game-day limit of 48 players.
Coming into the weekend, Miami had already ruled out three players: cornerback Storm Duck, defensive tackle Benito Jones, and tight end Darren Waller. Duck is dealing with an ankle issue, Jones has
an oblique problem, and Waller has a hip injury. Miami also initially ruled out tackle Austin Jackson with a toe issue, then moved him to injured reserve on Saturday.
Miami also listed cornerback Ethan Bonner and running back Jaylen Wright on the injury report, both as doubtful for the game. Bonner has a hamstring issue and Wright is dealing with a knee injury that required surgery during the summer.
Duck, Jones, Waller, Bonner, and Wright were all included on the inactive players list. Joining them were quarterback Quinn Ewers and wide receiver Tahj Washington. Ewers was listed as the team’s emergency quarterback, allowing him to enter the game should both starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and backup Zach Wilson be injured.
Miami elevated kicker Riley Patterson and running back Jeff Wilson, Jr., from the team’s practice squad, making them eligible to play in the game. Both players were also elevated for the team’s Week 1 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Patriots ruled out cornerback Christian Gonzalez and defensive end Keion White on the final injury report. Gonzalez has a hamstring injury while White has an illness.
They were joined by nose tackle Eric Gregory, wide receiver Efton Chism, guard Caedan Wallace, and quarterback Tommy DeVito. DeVito was listed as the emergency quarterback.
New England elevated defensive back Kobee Mino and linebacker Mark Robinson for the game.
Kickoff of the first 2025 meeting between the AFC East rivals is set for 1 p.m. Eastern.
