The Steelers suffered an embarrassing loss to the Cleveland Browns 13-6 on Sunday, with a chance at clinching the AFC North crown on the line. During the second quarter of the contest, Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders threw an ill-advised pass that hit a streaking Nick Herbig in coverage right in the hands. Herbig was unable to come down with the catch that would have most likely ended up being a pick-six, as there was nothing between the edge rusher and the endzone.
The play is something that Herbig
made clear he is still thinking about, even after the game went final.
“Obviously, that changes the game, and you know, just you gotta make plays. Big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games, and I didn’t. You know, and obviously, like that’s the stuff that keeps you up at night. I gotta be able to move past that and prepare for this week.”
Herbig blames himself for not coming down with the ball, but is putting it in the past for a winner-take-all game against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend.
Herbig seems to have the right mindset heading into the Steelers’ most important game of the season. The edge rusher has been a solid piece, seeing increased snaps this season and totaling a career-high 6.5 sacks to date. Herbig and the rest of the Steelers seem to be putting the loss behind them and gearing up for their showdown at Acrisure Stadium.
