Kentucky Basketball is set to hold a Zoom meeting on Wednesday with Missouri transfer guard Anthony Robinson II, according to Jacob Polacheck of KSR, as the Wildcats continue evaluating backcourt options in the transfer portal.
Robinson, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound point guard from Florida, averaged 8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game this past season while shooting 41% from the field and 31.4% from three-point range on 3.2 attempts per game. After three seasons at Missouri, he has one year
of eligibility remaining.
Robinson’s has faced the Wildcats multiple times. In a 73-68 win at Rupp Arena this past season, he recorded 9 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals while shooting 4/9 from the field. However, Kentucky limited his impact in the SEC Tournament, holding him scoreless with two turnovers and four fouls in a 78-72 Wildcats win.
In the 2024-25 matchup, Robinson finished with 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, shooting just 1/6 from the field in a loss to Kentucky.
While his production has varied against the Wildcats, Robinson’s experience, playmaking ability, and SEC background make him an intriguing option for head coach Mark Pope. His ability to facilitate offense and defend at a high level could help stabilize Kentucky’s backcourt amid roster turnover.
