Do you remember how much of a disaster the “Randy Orton mystery caller
” angle was in the build up to WrestleMania 42 last month? I’m sure you do, dear reader, because that’s how Pat McAfee was forced into Cody Rhodes’ main event story, and it was very dumb.Now it looks like the Backlash main event match between World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu has a mystery caller angle too. Here is a video clip WWE posted on social media of Fatu taking a phone call in the aftermath of this
week’s attack on Roman Reigns.
The Samoan Werewolf says “I know!” a bunch of times during the phone call. He also says “I was different there,” and “Okay. I love you guys.”
Could it be Solo Sikoa trying to recruit him back into MFT after seeing things break down between Jacob and The Bloodline? Are The Usos on the verge of betraying their Tribal Chief? Could it be Pat McAfee trying to save the business from The Bloodline? What about Cody Rhodes trying to keep the Samoan Werewolf away from his WWE championship by directing him to go after the OTC? It can’t possibly be Stephen A. Smith on the other line, right?
Maybe we’ll get some clues or answers on tonight’s (May 1) episode of SmackDown.
