After leading Washington to a second straight NCAA Tournament, Tina Langley has inked a six-year, $7.1 million extension, per Percy Allen of The Seattle Times. It’s a significant victory for the athletic department as Alabama was reportedly a strong suitor for her services.
If Alabama’s reported interest is accurate, Langley’s decision to stay put reflects a similar one to ex-offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb when Nick Saban sought him out as ‘Bama’s next playcaller. Of course, Alabama would get the
last laugh by luring Kalen DeBoer to Tuscaloosa one year later. Langley staying put makes Washington 2-1 in its coaching carousel rivalry with Alabama, but who’s counting?
