Folks, it is officially game day for your Minnesota Vikings, and what better way to kick off the 2026 NFL season as the purple play host to the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium. We’ve got all of the information you need to be able to follow along with all of the action through just about any medium you’d like, so let’s get to all of it right now.
Television Info
This game is going to be part of the late window in Week 1, meaning that kickoff is slated for 3:25 PM Central time. The game will be airing on the CBS
family of networks, meaning it will be on WCCO-4 in the Twin Cities, with the #1 CBS team of Jim Nantz and J.J. Watt on the call in the booth. You can refer to our coverage map post from earlier in the week to see whether or not the game will be airing in your part of the country, but unless you’re in Colorado, Kansas, Arizona, or parts of Nevada, California, Nebraska, or Missouri, you’ll be getting this one. Otherwise, you’ll have to rely on NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV.
Radio Info
If you’re going to be traveling or just prefer to listen to things through the magic of radio, we have updated our list of Vikings Radio Network affiliates for this season. Wherever you are in the upper Midwest, you should be covered.
If you’ll be tuning in through satellite radio, you’ll be able to find the Vikings feed on Channel 195. If you’ve got the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is on Channel 820.
Referee Info
The officiating crew for this week’s game will be headed up by Shawn Hochuli. The last time the Vikings saw Hochuli and his crew was last November at U.S. Bank Stadium, as his crew handled the Vikings’ 27-19 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. (Thank you to Football Zebras for that information.)
Weather Info
Obviously the weather won’t have any effect on the game itself, since it’s going to be played indoors. If you’re going to be partaking in any sort of pre-game festivities, you’ll get a reminder that, yes, fall my finally, actually be upon us. According to our friends at WeatherNation, there will be some periods of rain showers during the morning that should clear up as we get closer to noon, and temperatures will hang out in the mid-to-upper 60s with winds out of the northwest at around 10 miles/hour.
Betting Info
The Vikings remain a slight favorite going into this one. The line continues to show the Vikings as a 1.5-point favorite, with the over/under resting at 46.5 points.
Streaming Info
As far as legal streaming options for this one, I believe local fans can use the official Vikings app, and because the game is on CBS, there are ways that Paramount+ can be used as well.
Don’t push illegal streams here. We’ll make sure you get banned for that. Not temporarily banned, either.
That should be all of the information you need in order to follow all of the action of the 2026 regular season opener from U.S. Bank Stadium between the Green Bay Packers and your Minnesota Vikings, folks. We’ll have our Game Thread dropping about half an hour before kickoff, right around 3:00 PM Central, and we’ll set up a discussion thread for the early games over in the Feed so that you can hang out and talk about all the noon games with your fellow Vikings fans. We hope to see you there!
