Atletico Madrid have reportedly now filed an official complaint with FIFA and the RFEF against Barcelona and their pursuit of Julian Alvarez.
Los Colchoneros have previously threatened to take action against Barcelona after being left furious by Alvarez after he told the media at World Cup 2026 that he wanted a transfer.
According to COPE, Atletico have now written to both organizations and called for an investigation opened and the Catalans to be sanctioned.
The Madrid side believe that Barcelona have
been “negotiating with a player under contract” which is prohibited but seems to happen all the time.
Alvarez didn’t mention Barcelona by name when he spoke about his future but there has been heavy speculation linking the club with a summer move.
Indeed Barcelona are expected to make a bid for the player after World Cup 2026 but it’s still not known if Atletico will allow the Argentina star to leave this summer.
