After a 6-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, the Colorado Avalanche are back home to take on the Nashville Predators. This will be the second out of four regular season matchups between these two teams, with Nashville having won the first by a final score of 6-2.
Colorado Avalanche (9-6-1)
The Avs return home to the Mile High City after a back-to-back on the road against the Chicago Blackhawks and Blue Jackets that they ended up splitting. In the loss to Columbus, absolutely nothing went right for Colorado. The team
couldn’t score a goal to save their life, and the goaltending wasn’t able to do anything to lift up the rest of the team, either. If the Avs are to bounce back against the Predators here tonight, get back in the win column, and not have a repeat of their last matchup against Nashville, they need to be better far both offensively and defensively here tonight.
Projected Lineup
Artturi Lehkonen – Nathan MacKinnon – Martin Necas
Gabe Landeskog – Nazem Kadri – Nic Roy
Jaden Schwartz – Brock Nelson – T.J. Hughes
Parker Kelly – Fedor Svechkov – Logan O’Connor
Devon Toews – Cale Makar
Sam Malinski – Brent Burns
Brett Kulak – Noah Juulsen
Mackenzie Blackwood
Scott Wedgewood
Nashville Predators (6-4-5)
The Predators come into this game with a two-game win streak, after beating the Tampa Bay Lightning in a shootout and beating the Carolina Hurricanes this past Tuesday. While this team continues to be a bit of a confusing, middling team in the Central Division, their roster is insanely talented and has a lot of different players who can score at will, and they showed that against the Avs earlier this season. They also have some pretty solid goaltending with Juuse Saros in net, and are a team that should be taken seriously. This is a team that knows they can beat Colorado because they did it already this season, but Colorado is plenty capable of flipping that script and bouncing back tonight.
Projected Lineup
Steven Stamkos – Ryan O’Reilly – Mavrik Bourque
Filip Forsberg – Shane Wright – Nils Hoglander
Ross Colton – Jack Drury – Adam Edstrom
Reid Schaefer – Alex Kerfoot – Vitali Pinchuk
Roman Josi – Adam Wilsby
Brady Skjei – Nick Perbix
Daemon Hunt – Jaden Struble
Juuse Saros
Justus Annunen
