The United States Men’s National Team are back on the field tonight as they take on Chile in the second friendly of this international window. The USMNT had a great outing on Saturday in a win over Peru, and they hope to keep it going tonight in St. Louis against another CONMEBOL team in Chile.
Chile is in the midst of some rebuilding, as they haven’t been to a World Cup since 2014 and haven’t won an international competition since winning back-to-back Copa Américas in 2015 and 2016. They lost on Saturday
to Canada by a 1-0 score in a match where they saw two guys sent off with red cards. They’re looking to get their footing as they try to rebuild their squad.
Meanwhile, the youth movement was on full display for the USMNT against Peru, and some of those players will once again get the nod tonight. One question will be centered around the health of centerback Chris Richards, who was held out of the Peru match due to a knock he had picked up. It’s not expected to be anything serious, but do they play it safe and keep him sidelined tonight? Either way, so many young players made their debuts in the first match, and they now have to turn it around and continue to impress against the Chileans.
