Arizona still has to take care of business this weekend, but if things go as planned it could find itself getting plenty of national attention to end the month.
The Wildcats’ Oct. 31 game at Texas Tech will kick off at 9 a.m. PT, with either ABC or and ESPN network airing the contest. That determination will be made after Saturday’s games, and it could mean ESPN’s College GameDay might be set to visit Lubbock and highlight the matchup.
Arizona (5-1, 2-1 Big 12) is back in the national rankings at No.
25, while Tech is No. 8 and one of six unbeaten teams left in the country.
The UA was supposed to play at Texas Tech in 2020, the return game of a home-and-home series that saw the Wildcats win at home in 2019, but COVID wiped out nonconference games. The Red Raiders beat Arizona 28-22 in 2024 and hold a 27-5-1 advantage in the all-time series which dates back to when the teams were in the Border Conference together.
This will be Arizona’s first game at Tech since 1989.
The UA is a victory away from being bowl eligible for the second year in a row, which last happened in 2014-15. It can lock up bowl eligibility with Saturday afternoon’s Homecoming game against Iowa State.
