Rüdiger has not featured since the first leg of the Spanish
Super Cup semi-final against Atlético Madrid on January 8. Despite not being at 100%, he played through discomfort to help the team, but the effort ultimately took its toll and his knee problem worsened.
He was then forced to miss the final against Barcelona and shifted his focus toward individualized rehab work, with the goal of returning in strong condition for the most decisive part of the season.
Positive feeling, but knee will dictate timeline
While the current mood around his recovery is optimistic, the club is still treating the situation carefully. Rüdiger’s availability will depend on how his knee responds day-to-day, and his progress over the next sessions will determine whether he can realistically be cleared for the weekend.
