According to a report from Sky Germany journalist Kerry Hau, Bayern Munich youngster Maycon Cardozo has suffered a shoulder injury that could keep him out for months:
Dire Prognosis for Maycon Cardozo and FC Bayern: The 17-year-old winger must undergo shoulder surgery and will be sidelined for around three months.
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund addressed the matter at the press conference ahead of the DFB-Pokal match against VfL Osnabrück. Later the club, would issue a brief release
as well.
“That’s bitter, he has a dislocated shoulder. He’s having surgery today and will be out for three to four months,” said Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Cardozo is one of Bayern Munich’s promising young wingers, having impressed during preseason and earned regular opportunities to train with the senior squad. Despite interest in a loan move, Bayern Munich has decided to keep him around. The 17-year-old can continue developing with the first team while gaining experience with Bayern Munich II and the academy.
