Good morning, Broncos Country!
Training camp is almost here.
After the best season in a decade, Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos will look to take that next step. The good news is just about everyone is back in 2026. While the subtraction of John Franklin Myers could be big on defense, literally and figuratively, the addition of Jaylen Waddle at receiver is a great counter.
As training camp nears for the Broncos, Waddle in this offense has me the most excited. Adding Waddle’s game-breaking speed, explosiveness, and limitless possibilities
will make Denver’s offense better, but it’ll make Nix better. It will certainly make the rest of the receivers better, including Courtland Sutton.
The debate over Nix and how good he is will continue. The same goes for the Broncos. Was last season a fluke with all of those late, one-score wins? Or does Nix and this team have something real?
Waddle being in the mix and the weapon Denver’s offense has lacked will play a massive role in the success of the offense and the team. Now, you add new Broncos offensive coordinator Davis Webb to the mix, and what he brings to the equation. Having Waddle certainly doesn’t hurt.
The defense will remain one of the best units in the NFL. Aside from Myers, everyone is back, including defensive coordinator Vance Joseph. The key for that unit is to create more turnovers.
After coming up a game short of the Super Bowl after one of the best wins in franchise history, the Broncos have the opportunity to take the next step this season.
The first step comes soon with training camp starting. The addition of Waddle to Denver’s offense will play the biggest role in Nix and the team taking that next step.
