The Portland Trail Blazers will open their 2026-27 schedule against the Phoenix Suns tonight. The Moda Center will be rocking and plenty of Blazers fans will show up to get their first look at a returned Damian Lillard, a rejuvenated Ja Morant, and the rest of the Blazers crew as they embark on their quest for the 2027 NBA Playoffs.
We welcome everyone joining us for the game. This is your Game Day discussion thread. We open one of these every time the Blazers play. We invite you to join with fellow
fans talking about the action live. You can do that in the comments section below or via the new SBNation App. All the conversation goes to the same place, so participate in whatever way seems most natural to you!
Note for long-time readers: because of the app, we will no longer be splitting Game Day conversation into First Half and Second Half threads. It’s all in one place now. You can stick with this post all evening.
Here’s the basic info you need to watch the game:

And our Game Day Thread rules:
- Blazer’s Edge is a non-profanity site. Yes, even though referees and the L*kers exist.
- Stay on topic in Game Day threads. There are tons of comments each evening. Adding off-topic ones here just gets confusing.
- No trolling, please. This includes ad hominem arguments, extreme language about the game or either team, and/or repeated “spammed” comments stating the same point, among other things. Keep conversation respectful and civil. This remains true for all parties if opposing fans visit the thread.
- No offensive language (racist, sexist, etc.) is ever allowed at Blazer’s Edge. Comments attacking or disparaging people for their inherent characteristics may (and probably will) result in immediate ejection from the site.
- Please avoid making comparisons, analogies, etc. to hot-button issues like politics, religion, and the like. We’re here to talk basketball, at least for the duration of the game.
As always, enjoy the game and each other! Go Blazers!
