Wanderlei Silva stepped on the scale at 206.7 pounds for his boxing match Saturday night in Brazil, while his opponent Acelino Freitas, a former WBA and WBO champion, weighed in at 162.7.
The agreement
is that Silva has to weigh in again Saturday morning and can’t be over 216 pounds. They will headline Spaten Fight Night 2 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Freitas replaced injured Vitor Belfort on a month’s notice. Silva and Freitas will meet in an eight-round exhibition match, with judges scoring the contest.
Beatriz Ferreira and Hebert Conceição have also made weight for their boxing title defenses against Maira Moneo and Yamaguchi Falcão, respectively.
