Now that Brian “Road Dogg” James is gone from WWE, he is all over the place doing autograph signings and appearances with his D-Generation X stablemate, Billy Gunn. Does this mean there’s a chance that the 62-year-old Gunn and 56-year-old Dogg might actually have a reunion match as the New Age Outlaws at some point?
Nope, not a chance. Here is Daddy Ass’ explanation for why it will never happen, in a new interview with Chris Van Vliet.
Ass: “No, let’s not be silly.”
Van Vliet: “Could the New Age Outlaws
wrestle again?”
Ass: “No. The one of ’em could, if the other one just stood there and watched.”
Van Vliet: “Okay. Could Brian just stand on the apron while you do all the stuff?”
Ass: “Yes. He could do that. He wouldn’t do that. I don’t even think Elon Musk has enough money to get him to [do that.]”
Van Vliet: “So you don’t think that Brian will ever wrestle again?”
Ass: “I don’t think so. Don’t get me wrong, he loves the wrestling business, but…not the physical part of it. The other stuff he’s magnificent at. So, if you’re looking to see us, we’re everywhere. Everywhere. When I say that, we are everywhere.”
Van Vliet: “Except for in a wrestling ring together.”
Ass: “Yes, you won’t see us there. You’ll see me there. Not him.”
The data at CageMatch says Road hasn’t wrestled a match since January 2015 when the New Age Outlaws lost at Royal Rumble 2015 against The Ascension’s Konnor & Viktor, so I tend to believe Billy when he says Dogg will never wrestle again.
