Options for the Chicago Bears to improve the roster at this point of the year are slim, and one of the top defensive ends on the market, Cam Jordan, just re-signed with the New Orleans Saints.
If it wasn’t evident already, the current roster is the basic group the Bears will head into training camp with.
Sure, they’ll make a tweak or two, but I can’t imagine they’ll entertain the thought of making a significant addition until they get to see the players in pads.
All offseason, fans and analysts alike
have wondered where the defensive line help has been. Free agency came and went, and nary an EDGE was added, although they did sign a few defensive tackles, the splashiest of which was Neville Gallimore. Chicago’s draft class featured only one defensive lineman, Jordan van den Berg, a sixth-round defensive tackle. They’re banking on the defensive end room to bounce back after injuries derailed their 2025 plans.
The other position that fans were clamoring for was left tackle, but the Bears didn’t make a big move there either; instead, they brought Braxton Jones back and took a flier on Jedrick Wills Jr.
Are one of these three positions (DE, DT, LT) concerning you, or is there another position that keeps you up at night? Vote in our poll of the day, and we’ll share the results in a few days.
