France and Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni has shed more light on what happened with his teammate Fede Valverde. Tchouameni spoke to the media from the French training camp, and the question about his fight with Valverde was inevitable. However, the 26-year-old gave a rather composed response.
“Obviously things happened, you could see and hear them in the media. It got blown out of proportion because it came out in the press, and when you play for Real Madrid, that creates a huge reaction.
A lot of nonsense was said in the media,” said Tchouameni.
“I read that there was a fight and that I’d punched him. Which wasn’t the case. I’m not going into more details. The most important thing is that the club was aware of what happened. There are many things that go on in the locker rooms that don’t make it to the press.”
“Life goes on. With Fede, we have a common goal: winning titles with Real Madrid. There’s no problem. And if I face him in the World Cup, we’ll want to win with the French national team. On a personal level, there’s no issue with Valverde right now,” Tchouameni concluded.
