The hype surrounding Maryland men’s soccer remains after its deep postseason run in 2025. Despite losing 19 players from last season’s roster, the Terps were ranked No. 7 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll.
With four ranked opponents on its 2026 schedule, Maryland will have ample opportunities to cement its status as a championship contender. The Terps will face No. 1 Washington, No. 5 Georgetown, No. 16 High Point and No. 22 Indiana during
the regular season.
Maryland wasn’t ranked in last season’s preseason top-25, but a 15-match unbeaten streak propelled the Terps to the No. 1 slot entering the postseason. Still, their title pursuit ended in the quarterfinals.
Head coach Sasho Cirovski returns five starters from last season’s NCAA Tournament lineup while adding impact transfers and a talented freshman class to replace the departed contributors. Maryland opens its 2026 season on Aug. 20 at Pittsburgh.
