Since Penta currently holds the WWE Intercontinental Championship, it is reasonable to assume that the superstar luchador will defend the title at WrestleMania 42. Penta isn’t resting on his laurels to coast into the Granddaddy of Them All. He will be a fighting champion, and he accepted a risky challenge in AAA.
Penta was called out by Hijo del Vikingo on the latest episode of AAA TV (previously filmed in Puebla, Mexico). Vikingo needs a new goal after failing to win the AAA Mega Championship from
Dominik Mysterio. Vikingo is not allowed to challenge Dom again, per the agreed upon stipulation. Instead, Vikingo wants to leave Mexico behind and head to WrestleMania. To achieve that objective, Vikingo needs to win the Intercontinental Championship from Penta.
Even though there was lots of trash talk, Penta did not hesitate to accept the challenge. Vikingo requested that they have the title bout on April 11 in Mexico City to air live on AAA TV. Penta did his strut and Cero Miedo’d in Vikingo’s face.
This is a risky match for Penta. Vikingo is a great wrestler in his own right, even if this would be a fair fight. Make no mistake though. It will not be a fair fight. Vikingo will be flanked by Dorian Roldan and Omos. Penta showed no fear of Omos standing up to the giant. That numbers game can be tricky, and expect hijinks.
