Barcelona made it five wins from five in La Liga on Sunday with a 4-2 victory over Levante at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
Xavi Espart opened the scoring before Lamine Yamal scored twice to make it 3-0. The game looked to be over but Levante pulled one back when a poor pass from Espart gave Iván Romero sight of goal and he made it 3-1.
Hansi Flick spoke about the Levante goal after the match and said it was his fault as he had wanted to substitute Espart but decided to wait a little longer.
“We had
a great start, but then we broke down a bit, we needed to play more calmly. The pitch was not in the best condition, it was very dry, far from the conditions.
“The first goal was my fault, we wanted to make a change but in the end we waited for the next play and it was my fault.”
Levante scored again to set up a nervy finish before substitute Karim Adeyemi popped up with a great fourth goal for Barcelona, earning praise from Flick.
“I’m not surprised by Adeyemi. When he’s focused he’s fantastic. That’s what you should show,” he explained.
“That’s why we decided to bring him in. I’ve known him for years, we knew what he can give. He has something special and he must show it. He can’t relax, he always has to go for the next thing and that’s what I want from him.”
