The Champions League is back! Obviously, Borussia Dortmund will face Villarreal this evening, but there are a couple of other fixtures that will dominate the headlines. The biggest game is probably Chelsea
vs Barcelona, but Manchester City vs Bayer Leverkusen could be lots of fun, and I’m personally interested in a matchup between two former giants of European football, Ajax vs Benfica.
Of course, there is another game that will overshadow all of this nonsense, though. I’m sure we will all be tuned in as two of world football’s most storied super clubs, Southampton and Leicester City, lock horns.
BVB News
- Borussia Dortmund have joined the race for Hoffenheim’s Fisnik Asllani, with an eye to replacing Serhou Guirassy in the near future.
- Apparently Karim Adeyemi wants to play for Liverpool or Real Madrid. Just like every other player in the world, I guess?
- Former Bayern Munich and Germany international Lothar Matthäus has urged fans to be patient in Niko Kovač. When the world’s biggest blowhard tells everyone to not overreact, does that mean everyone should be more or less worried?
Bundesliga News
- Speaking of blowhards, Uli Hoeneß spoke out against German football’s 50+1 rule (again).
- Harry Kane has spoken about the speculation linking him to Barcelona, making it sound like there is very little substance behind the reports.
Your Thoughts?
Do you think BVB will make a move for Fisnik Asllani? And if so, do you think he would make a good replacement for Serhou Guirassy? Let us know in the comments.
