Mexico head coach Javier Aguirre understands that stopping Bayern Munich striker and England star Harry Kane is an almost impossible task.
While the Mexico manager has immense respect for Kane, he does not plan to make life easy for the Englishman.
“Harry Kane is a global icon. The goals he scored for Tottenham, Bayern, or for his national team, are those of a world-class player. He’s 1.88 metres tall, and despite his size, has great skill with his feet. He has aerial ability, he has it all. Hard-working,
he defends, he’s the captain,” Aguirre said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “What more can I say about him? We’ll try to neutralise him, not just with the centre-backs but with the midfield, with help from the full-backs. We’ll try to make sure he’s not comfortable on the pitch when he drops deep to receive the ball, that he always has someone on him so he can’t create.”
The big question to ask is if Aguirre has considered subcontracting this task out to a local witch doctor? That really might be the only way to stifle Kane these days.
