Dan Quinn spoke to the media after practice and named the team captains for this week’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football. The theme for the captains this week was “Intentional.
Consistent. Tough. Opportunity. Delivering.” He named WR Like McCaffrey on offense, Javon Kinlaw on defense, and Jacob Martin on special teams, and said they represent that.
WRs Terry McLaurin(quad) and Deebo Samuel(heel) will both be back on the field this week, and the Quinn’s excited to get them back out there. McLaurin has been sidelined since getting injured while laying out for a touchdown in Week 3, causing him to miss the last four games. Samuel has been trying to manage a heel injury for the last three weeks, finally sitting out a game last week to rest the injury.
That will be a big boost for an offense that will now be missing QB Jayden Daniels for the third time this season. Daniels suffered a hamstring injury and he was ruled out earlier in the week, giving backup Marcus Mariota the full week to practice ans the starter as he prepares for a return to Arrowhead Stadium.
Quinn also ruled out TE Colson Yankoff, who suffered a hamstring injury during practice yesterday. Washington will have three TEs active(Zach Ertz, John Bates, Ben Sinnott). Daron Payne had his best game of the season vs the Cowboys, but now his status for the Chiefs game is uncertain. He’s missed practice this week with a toe injury, and he’s working through the injury.
