According to a report from Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer did not train with the team on Thursday, putting his status for Saturday’s DFB-Pokal in major doubt:
Manuel Neuer is still carrying calf problems and did not train with the team today either. Neuer was at Säbener Straße for treatment and rehab. A final decision will be made tomorrow. The chances are currently said to be 50-50. The captain wants to avoid any unnecessary risks ahead of the World Cup.
If he’s not fully fit by tomorrow, Jonas Urbig will start the Pokal final.
Earlier in the week, it was reported that Neuer would not play if he could not train on Thursday, but that stance seems to have softened. Regardless, Urbig will be ready to go if needed.
With Neuer’s recent selection to the German national team, his injury situation has become all that more important to a wider base of fans than just those of Bayern Munich.
